Telehealth Consent
Last updated October 24, 2026
Your online visit is a telehealth service. Before your visit starts, you will be asked to read and accept the full telehealth consent of the independent medical group that provides your care. This page summarizes what that consent covers.
What telehealth means
A licensed provider in your state reviews the health information you share online and may message you with questions. Depending on your state, this may happen through secure messages or a video or phone call. The provider decides whether a treatment is right for you.
Benefits and limits
- Telehealth saves you a trip and lets you get care from home.
- Your provider can't examine you in person, so accurate and complete answers are important.
- Your provider may decide telehealth isn't right for you and recommend seeing a provider in person.
- Technical problems can delay care. If you have an urgent problem, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Your information
Your health information is protected under HIPAA and handled under the medical group's privacy notice. You can ask questions, decline or stop telehealth care at any time.
